Guitar Hero 5 Counter-Programs Against Beatles: Rock Band
Posted on July 30th, 2009 in General | Comments Off
How do you compete with the biggest band of all time? You counter-program.
Activision will ship Guitar Hero 5 on Sept. 1, a mere eight days before The Beatles: Rock Band launches. And while John Lennon once said his band was “more popular than Jesus,” there are still some people on the planet who aren’t all that crazy about the Fab Four.
The just-revealed final set list for Guitar Hero 5 shows how Activision intends to counter-program against The Beatle: They’re looking to mop up all the people who haven’t been swept away by Beatlemania. With a grand total of 85 songs, Guitar Hero 5 casts a wide net, but has heavy appeal to younger players and the ScoreHero crowd.
We’ve already known a good number of the songs that would appear in Guitar Hero 5, and we’ve had a clue about what the rest of the lineup would look like thanks to a viral video that Bill O’Reilly doesn’t approve of.
