Gangland Movie Mixes Crime, Videogame Development

A movie called Gangland will track the fate of videogame developers who set out to to create a realistic virtual crime world, only to find themselves entangled with real-life bad guys. Sounds like a day in the life of a Rockstar Games employee.
Spanish director Nacho Vigalondo (pictured), best known for his mind-bending time-travel thriller Timecrimes, will helm the action-comedy flick, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Gangland will be produced by Steve Zaillian, the Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Schindler’s List and Gangs of New York.
With Tron Legacy on the horizon and this thriller in early stages, it looks like Hollywood likes videogames not only as a venue for cross-marketing, but as a way of exploring the ragged area where fantasy and reality meet.
