Harmonix and MTV Games have announced that a five pack of songs from new wave rockers Talking Heads, as well as singles from Avenged Sevenfold, The Jam, Oasis and Rage Against the Machine will be available in the Rock Band Music Store of Downloadable Content (DLC) next week for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Heaven Media has announced a new co-operation between competitive gaming website Esports Heaven and OCZ Technology, the Californian company famous for their high quality range of hardware. Gamers from around Europe will have until the end of August to register to take part in one of these two high-profile events, which will see over two hundred and fifty keenly fought battles between some of the best teams around.

Quantic Dream co-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere has said to CVG that any criticisms towards the Quick Time Events in Heavy Rain are unfair. He was speaking after the game made an appearance at GamesCom two weeks ago.

The patch is available to North American users when you load up call of duty 4, upon start up it will inform you that patch 1.40 is available to download.

Click ok and it will download and install in your COD4 main data file.

*Bare in mind that EU users do not have the patch, so will be unable to connect to US/Canadain users*"

In part two of G4’s mammoth interview with Quantic Dream’s David Cage from GamesCom 2009, the Heavy Rain creator talks to Billy Berghammer about the developer’s creative relationship with Sony, who Cage believes the game’s audience will be, and what lies ahead creatively for him and his team.

Easily one of Cage’s most compelling assertions comes during his discussion about how he hopes people will play the game, given that so much of the experience depends on making decisions and seeing them through to their narrative conclusions. In terms of how many times players will play through the game, Cage says:

"I would like people to play it once…because that’s life. Life you can only play once…I would like people to have this experience that way."’

Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase has said that Square Enix are "exploring" the option of releasing possible DLC for the game on the PSN and Xbox Live with new items, areas or enemies, although nothing is set in stone yet.

Rock Band: Some artists "missing the point" (Rock Band)

Music artist who criticise Rock Band and other music games of distracting kids from playing real instruments are taking "a narrow perspective of things", says Harmonix’s John Drake.

"I think they’re missing the point. I think that they don’t understand why it’s a phenomenon," Drake told CVG. "From my perspective, anything that gets kids interested in music and gets kids playing music in their house that isn’t an MP3 they stole off the internet, is a good thing.
